Christmas on the Board Opening Night (December 8, 2025) – Road Closure and Parking Notices

To accommodate an anticipated high level of pedestrian traffic during the opening night of Christmas on the Boardwalk on Monday, December 8, 2025, Riverside Drive from Mayor Avenue to Cannings Lane will be closed to traffic from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.  Only emergency vehicles will be granted entry during this time. 

Parking on Riverside Drive from Mayor Avenue to Cannings Lane will not be permitted from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.  Individuals with an accessible parking permit from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador can park in front of the Public Works Depot on Riverside Drive while space is available; however, they must park before 6:00 pm and cannot leave the area until 7:30 pm.  Unrestricted parking is available at the Pat O'Reilly Memorial Stadium on Stanley Avenue and the Forest Management District Office on Kinsmen Drive.  Space is limited.
